ANIMAL MINISTRY

Blessing of the Animals

The Blessing of the Animals service is held annually on the first Sunday in October at Murphysboro United Methodist Church. In this service, people are reminded that God employs us to be stewards over all the creatures of the earth. A pastor invokes an individual blessing over each animal present. For more information, contact Trina Eaton at trina.eaton1@gmail.com.

Feeder of the Pack

The Murphysboro United Methodist Church partners with the Murphysboro Food Pantry to provide a Pet Food Pantry for the Jackson County area. This program, called Feeder of the Pack, is housed at the Murphysboro Food Pantry and distributed to families who qualify for food. The mission of Feeder of the Pack is to distribute pet food to those in need so pets don’t go hungry or get abandoned. No one should have to choose between feeding their pets and feeding themselves. We realize these pets are gifts from God and deserve to be treated with respect and care.

So what can you do to help? Large quantities of DRY dog and cat food are needed. Monetary donations may be mailed or dropped off at the church. Pet food may be dropped off at the church or pick-up can be arranged by contacting Trina Eaton. Any donations, no matter how large or small, are much appreciated. If you have any questions or would like to donate, please contact Trina Eaton at (618) 687-3209 or trina.eaton1@gmail.com.
